Note that inn order to better balance teams we are Looking for (a few) new Referees. Scugog Soccer has a limited number of positions available for new Youth and District Referees in 2012. We will offer clinics in early May. You must be 12 on Mar 31, 2012 to take the 1 day Youth Ref course. You must be at least 14 on Mar 31 to take the two day District Referee course. Go to the Ref page for more info and contact information. Parents/Players Whether we play on not due to weather is always a game time decision. As for Heat, if you feel it too hot for your child to play then don't let them play, just let your coach know as soon as you can. You know your child best and how well they handle hot and/or humid weather. If they do play have them drink plenty of fluids throughout the day well before their game, then also during and after. As for heavy rain, many of our fields hold up well in heavy rain. Unlike many clubs, we decide if our fields are playable or not, not the township. We don't play when there is lightning in the area but because of the local nature of thunderstorms, it is again a game time decision. We reference weather radar web sites and use our own lightning detector and OSA policy in making decisions on playing or not. If we sound the alarm (via 3 blasts from our air horn) or you are told by your referee, please move to your vehicles ASAP. It the safest place in a thunderstorm. Games or practices can't be restarted until 30 minutes past the last lighning is seen or thunder heard. Player safety always comes first. |
Program Assistance Policy The Scugog Soccer Association does not turn anyone away solely on their ability to pay.
