The following 2009 outdoor season coaches are deemed "Official" to receive the $25 registration discount for 2010. Coaches must have been screened as required in the last one to three years and had shown their yellow police criminal records check to our screening officers (not just the receipt).

Police Checks and Screening are Mandatory for all
Scugog Soccer Coaches. Your Police Check cost is Refunded by the club once you show us the Yellow form sent by the police.

(Police checks are only required once every
3 years for U4 to U10 House League level coaches)

Coaching Clinics

The Durham Region Soccer Association and the Ontario Soccer Association offer coaching clinics for levels: CHILDREN, YOUTH and SENIOR certifications. 

It's Scugog Soccer Association Policy to Refund the cost of the first three levels of OSA Soccer coaching Clinics. All that we ask for is a commitment to coach one year in the SSA for each clinic level refunded.

Take one course, get your refund, Coach one full year for the SSA.

We think this is a great deal for you, us and the kids.

You also get a $25 discount on registration the following year! We don't know of any other Durham club that offers you a discount.

 

Please click on the OSA and/or DRSA link below to see upcoming dates and locations of clincs for all of these levels. Please book early and directly with the club hosting the course, not Scugog Soccer. Keep all receipts and certificates in order to expidite your rebate. Allows 2-3 weeks for a Refund.

Stuff Scugog Coaches should know:

  • A spring training session for all U4, U5 and U6 coaches is held in late May to help get you going in the right direction. Usually at the High School on a week day evening.
  • Screening for all House league coaches is only required every three years. All new coaches and traveing coaches will require screening and police checks before the seasons starts.
  • Select & Rep coaches need screening each year. They are also reminded that their teams will not be registered with DRSA (ie. may not play any games) until the coaches (at minimum) apply for a police check and are screened by our own SSA screeners (Sue and Ken Wilkinson - see the club page for contact info). Teams not registered do not play!
  • All DSL players (U23 & Ladies) must be carded (player book) before they may play any games.
  • Many OSA coaching clinics (Child, Youth and Senior) are scheduled throughout Ontario during the winter and spring months. Please follow the links on this page to find one near you.
  • All new and competitive Scugog Soccer Association coaches will require Police Checks and go through our own SSA "screening" process (this involves providing three references and a short interview) BEFORE the season starts! House league coaches only need screening every 3 years.
  • Individual coaches are not to contact the DRSA (Durham Region Soccer Association) directly. You must always go through our head coach or the office administrator or our club registrar. (see the club page for contact information)
