Respect in Sport Parent Course - mandatory for 2016 registrants
Scugog Soccer Association and the Ontario Soccer Association have partnered with The Respect in Sport Program. The Respect in Sport Parent Program is a one-hour online module for parents/guardians, reinforcing their role in their child’s activities, encouraging positive sport behaviours and providing insight into the various roles other individuals play, such as coaches and officials. This program empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication, and to enhance a child’s overall enjoyment of soccer. The online course costs $12 and is transferable to other sports involved in Respect in Sport.
One parent/guardian from a family must take this course before their child(ren) will be permitted to play during the 2016 Outdoor Soccer Season.
IF you have already taken the course for another organization, the OMHA for example, you do not need to take the course again. You just need to log in to your profile and attach Scugog Soccer Association as a league in your profile.
IF you have not taken the course, please do so as soon as possible at https://osaparent.respectgroupinc.com/
IF you register for soccer this year and take the course by March 14, 2016 at 11:59pm, Scugog Soccer Association will reimburse you for the $12 cost as long as a receipt is provided. After March 14th, you will be responsible for the cost but you will still be required to take the course before your child will be permitted to play.

A Message from the Scugog Soccer Association;
At Scugog Soccer we strive to ensure that everyone enjoys this wonderful sport. This means we are committed to promoting positive behaviour both on and off the field.
We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any and all agressive behaviour, discrimination, harrassment or any other behaviour that negatively affects the Club, its volunteers and/or participants.
We thank all participants, coaches, parents, volunteers, and officials for working with us to provide a safe and respectful environment
The Ontario Soccer Association's Long Term Player Development Strategy
Important changes are coming to Soccer across Ontario. These changes will affect the way Soccer is played here in Scugog.
The goal is for each child to have as many touches on the ball as possible. Each child has a ball and they learn the fundamental, basic skills of soccer.
A higher importance is placed on skill development than winning.

Program Assistance Policy
